First day of school
In February 2004, Carita Feliz was closed for 2 weeks during which time the center was rejuvenated and the teaching strategy overhauled. Andreas and Peder held seminars with the teachers to brainstorm how Carita Feliz could be improved and the result was spectacular.

The first series of photos show teachers enrolling children in classes. Each teacher has responsibility for ensuring that only children were enrolled that had the ability and circumstances to complete the three-month course. Each student was then given a bar-coded student card and a t-shirt (uniform).

The second series of photos shows the students on their first day of school. The atmosphere was electric as children were given the chance and resources to learn - the center was packed!
