and directions to Granada
By Car: From Managua, head south-east along
Careterra Masaya. The distance is about 46 kilometers
and it should take 45 minutes.
By Taxi: Taxis from Managua
to
Granada
should cost
around $30. If you get a taxi from the airport, the
price will be substantially higher. It is cheaper if you
walk outside the barriers and get a taxi from the
highway itself.
By Bus: Regional buses to Granada leave Mercado Roberto Huembes every 15 minutes. The bus is usually quite
full, but the price is around 50 cents. The trip should
take just over an hour.
Air-conditioned Express buses cost about 80 cents leave from a
bus station across the street from
the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) every 20 minutes.
Once
in Granada...
Get taxi and ask for Carita Feliz in Calle San Juan del
Sur. The cost of taxi journeys within the main districts of
Granada is fixed: 5 Cordobas during the day and 10
Cordobas after 10pm for the entire journey.
Alternatively, it is a 10 minute walk from the Parque
Central toward the lake. From Hotel Gran Francia, walk
down Calle Caimito which becomes Calle San Juan del Sur.
Carita Feliz is the fifth street on the right, opposite
Panaderia San Juan del Sur.
