Carnival preparation
The preparation for the Carnival lasted 4 months and involved not only learning the dance routines and making the drums from scratch, but gaining new skills such as team work and discipline. As the children had never participated in anything of this scale or nature, there was a lot of work to do.

The drums were made by hand by flowerpots (as moulds) covered with fiberglass and then painted. The design, handiwork, effort and long hours were done by a young couple travelling through Central and South America - a Mexican and a Canadian with high spirits and good sense of humor no matter how difficult the task.
